Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how UIF Login (uif-login.co.za, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit our website. We respect your privacy and aim to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Comments: if you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and comment you submit, plus your IP address and browser information to help detect spam.
- Emails: if you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: our web host records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies: we use essential cookies to make the website work, for example to remember comment details if you choose to. Caching tools may also use cookies to serve pages faster.
Information we never ask for
We do not ask for and do not want your ID number, UIF reference number, passwords, OTPs or banking details. Please do not send them to us.
How we use information
- To run, secure and improve the website
- To display and moderate comments
- To reply to your messages
- To understand which guides are most useful
We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
- Google Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google, which may receive your IP address when fonts load.
- Analytics and advertising: if we add analytics or advertising services in future, such as Google Analytics or Google AdSense, those providers may use cookies to collect information about your visits. We will update this policy when that happens.
- Embedded content: pages may link to or embed content from other websites, which behave as if you visited those websites directly.
How long we keep information
Comments and their metadata are kept until the comment is deleted. Emails are kept only as long as needed to respond. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our host.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, and you may object to how it is used. To make a request, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
